Borough exhibition reflects advanced engineering in chrome

Borough Ltd will be exhibiting at this year's Advanced Engineering UK to highlight the latest advances in high quality, performance plating.

Borough leads the way in manufacturing injection moulded components designed specifically to be chrome plated, for the automotive, telecommunications and product design sectors. The exhibition is the perfect opportunity for the company to demonstrate its expertise on stand H40 in Hall 5 and attract interest from the numerous automotive manufacturers and supply chain partners attending the show.

The business has been chrome plating components for almost 70 years and was one of the first in the UK to perfect the application of chrome onto plastic components. Recent growth in demand for more component production, has seen Borough expand capacity in its mould shop with the addition of two ENGEL e-motion 300, injection moulding machines. 

Sales Director at Borough, David Brereton added: "This has been a valuable show for us in the past. It attracts serious buyers looking for suppliers like us to solve the challenges they face. In recent years we have enjoyed growth from some manufacturing previously sent overseas, returning to the UK and we hope to build on it further.

"Satin chrome is now in greater demand, especially for automotive interiors and we will be showing visitors to our stand the subtle difference in colour and finish compared to bright or noble chrome. We will also have engineers on the stand to explain the science behind the finish and discuss specific applications.

"We work with a number of the world's leading automotive brands, part of the supply chain that helps the UK automotive industry the global success it is. Borough is a good example of how traditional engineering firms in this country are re-inventing themselves to meet the very specific demands of an industry seeking to reduce the metal content of cars in a fight for greater efficiency."
