Injection Moulding

Injection Moulding

Injection moulding has always been a part of our business, but it has become increasingly important as appreciation of the quality of our moulding and plating grows.

To help us meet the growing demand for our top quality injection moulded and plated parts, we have continued to invest in quality moulding machines from the likes of Sandretto and ENGEL. Our newest Sandretto machine allows us to produce smaller parts to tighter tolerances to ensure we continually improve the quality of our moulded parts.

Our new ENGEL machine, with a 300kN clamping force, employs tie-bar-less technology which allows us to effectively mould larger parts on a smaller machine and save energy whilst being able to swap tools more quickly and efficiently.

We installed a new jib crane, capable of servicing the two machines to enable efficient change over and handling of the injection mould tools. A major contract for new a 'speaker cover' assembly project, calls for high volumes of different finishes and requires us to be agile in our service delivery.

To help minimise problems we will project manage the design of tools, working closely with tool manufacturers to take the product through all the stages of design, through to production part approval process (PPAP) and final production. We believe it is this constant attention to detail that sets us apart from our competitors.

The final quality of the finished product depends on condition of the virgin moulding and that's why we continue to invest in the future and train all members of the moulding team. We continually seek ways to improve our service and this has been paramount since we achieved 1st tier supply status and QS 9000, which closely examines the quality, fit and function of everything we do.

We find the best approach to achieve the best quality plated injection moulded components is for the designer, tool maker and electroplater to liaise right from the conception of the product. It is also useful, for designers to have a basic guide to help them understand the special design requirements of components specifically moulded for plating.

An understanding of these requirements will enable them to avoid errors that would subsequently have an adverse effect on the plating quality achieved and our guide can be read here.

Please contact us for a more detailed discussion of these special requirements.
